eSSe has been developed by Extenso Ltd who’s founder, Derek Furniss, is an avid sailor.
From lived experience Derek was frustrated by the limitations of the ‘air-horn’ style sound signalling equipment that are carried by most small vessel operators. Limited by their need to be operated manually, which is difficult when you’re short-handed, and the consumable / single-use nature which means that they are sometimes unreliable.
Driven by a commitment to better seamanship, eSSe is designed to combine the benefits of an electronic device with the convenience and simplicity of the portable and self-contained equipment that we’re used to.
